How did it get to be October? It seems I blinked and September was gone. Festival of the Grape or FOG was a smashing success despite the cool and rainy weather. Harvest is in full swing as the big reds are coming ready Cab Sav, Cab Franc, Malbec etc. The whites are picked and processed already becoming wine for next year vintages.
My good friend, Dave Terpening, took this awesome shot while visiting a local winery. It is full of wistful melancholy, while capturing this really cool image of the vineyard. Wistful because you are longing to be outside but the cool weather can keep you inside. While the heat of the summer has cooled, the sun can still hold some heat during the day and picnic lunches can still be enjoyed. Charcuterie on the deck is one of my favorite things. We just enjoy it for lunch now and not the evening!
As Thanksgiving approaches this weekend, I am so thankful for a wonderful first season with Uncorked BnB. We have met some truly awesome people, as I said in one of my blogs, we have the best guests. Our thoughts always turn to family during this time with the hopes of being together, Family or Friends or Both, to share a meal and some laughs. Some are gone but many remain, so open that bottle of wine you were saving and enjoy it together.
Happy Thanksgiving.
